This vanilla cookie recipe is a great success every time. It's also the perfect opportunity to bake them with your kids. You'll have fun shaping them into whatever you want and decorating them with royal icing, chocolate, sprinkles and more!

Vanilla Christmas cookies

Ingredients:

- 50g of sugar

- 25g of cane sugar

- Vanilla

- 125g of soft butter

- 260g of flour

- 1 egg

Mix the egg, sugars, vanilla and butter in a bowl, then add the flour to make a ball of dough that will be left to rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes in cling film.

Roll out the dough on greaseproof paper and cut out the cookies with a cookie cutter (the dough should be less than 5mm thick). If you want round cookies, a glass will do the trick. Bake in the oven at 160°C for 10-12 min depending on the thickness. They should be lightly browned. Take them out of the oven and let them rest on a cake rack.

We chose to make them as Christmas cookies and decorate them with royal icing. How did you make them? Don't hesitate to share your creations in the comments.
